When Your Life Still Works — But No Longer Fits
A private place to take the Book into your own life
The Book can help you recognise what may be happening.
The Interactive Enquiry Guide gives you somewhere to explore what it means for you.
It follows the same six-stage journey—Fog, Filter, Focus, Flow, Rise and Rhythm—but gives you more room to work with your own circumstances, in your own words and at your own pace.
There is nothing to complete and no correct way through it.
Some questions may take a few minutes. Others may stay with you for weeks.
You can leave something open, return later, change your mind, add what you notice and keep the parts that matter.
What the Guide is for
Some of the questions in the Book are too important to squeeze into a few lines on a page.
The Guide gives you more space to explore them properly.
Depending on the chapter, you may be invited to:
Reflect on what you are noticing
Map competing demands, costs or possibilities
Gather evidence over time
Compare what you know with what you are assuming
Try a small, reversible experiment
Examine a decision more closely
Return when your circumstances or thinking change
The form changes because the questions change.
You will not be asked to work through the same exercise eighteen times.
Your judgement stays yours
The Guide is there to support your judgement, not replace it.
It creates room to examine what you are seeing without deciding in advance what you should conclude or do.
The Guide will not:
Tell you that discomfort means you must change something
Treat your first response as necessarily the right one
Assume that every problem belongs to you to solve
Turn every difficult discovery into a task
Sometimes the useful next step may be:
When something important surfaces
Going deeper can reveal things you had not fully seen before. Some may be welcome. Some may be uncomfortable. Some may change the way you understand a situation.
The Guide does not smooth those discoveries away. It helps you pause and look more carefully at what has emerged.
What do you actually know?
What are you interpreting?
What belongs to you?
What belongs to somebody else—or to the circumstances around you?
What remains uncertain?
What, if anything, needs to happen next?
You remain the person making the judgement.
Your enquiry, in one place
As you work through the Guide, your saved material is brought together so that you can return to it when it becomes useful again.
Where you are in the six-stage journey
What you have chosen to save
Questions you want to revisit
Records or experiments you are still watching
Things you deliberately chose to leave open
This is not a form designed around neat little boxes. You can write as much or as little as you need.
Response areas expand as you write
Maps can grow when your life contains more than two neat options
Records can be added to over time
The Guide makes room for your thinking rather than forcing your thinking to fit the page.
There is no progress score.
A blank answer is not failure. A changed answer is not inconsistency. Sometimes it is simply new evidence.
Give yourself somewhere to keep what you notice, explore what it may mean and return when you know more.
Coming SoonHow the Guide works
The Guide is designed for enquiry that may unfold over time. You choose where to begin, when to stop and what to keep.
Private by design
Your entries are saved in the browser on the device you are using. They are not stored in an online account.
You can export a copy of your saved material at any time for your own records.
Important to know
Clearing this site’s stored browser data may remove your saved entries.
In the current version, an exported copy cannot be imported back into the Guide to restore your previous working state.
Use it your way
You can begin at Fog and follow the Book’s route through Filter, Focus, Flow, Rise and Rhythm.
Or you can return directly to the stage or chapter that matters to you now.
The order is useful, but it is not compulsory.
Stop whenever you have had enough.
Come back tomorrow—or months later.
Return when the question becomes relevant again.
The Guide explains its storage arrangements clearly so that you can decide how you want to use and preserve your material.
Is this for you?
The Interactive Enquiry Guide may be useful if you finished a chapter and found yourself thinking:
“I need more room to think about this.”
“I can see this in my own life, but I’m not sure what it means yet.”
“There are several things going on here, not one simple answer.”
“I want to keep track of this before I decide anything.”
“I don’t want to lose what I have just noticed.”
If you do not need that extra space, that is fine too.
The Book stands on its own.
The Guide is here when going further would help.
Continue the enquiry
You only need somewhere honest enough to look at what is happening now.
The Interactive Enquiry Guide gives you that space.
Work privately, return in your own time and keep the parts that matter.
